Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to speak Japanese?
No. Our staff can communicate using translation apps. You can also message us in English before your visit, and we'll prepare everything in advance.
This is my first time crossdressing. Is that OK?
Absolutely. Over 5,000 guests have visited us, and many were complete beginners. Our staff will guide you through every step — from costume selection to posing for photos.
What do I need to bring?
Nothing. All makeup, wigs, costumes, accessories, and photography equipment are provided. Just come as you are.
Is the studio private?
Yes. Opera-za Princess House is a fully private, reservation-only studio. You will not encounter other guests during your session.
How is this different from salons in central Tokyo?
We offer the largest costume collection in Japan (1,000+ items including 100+ dresses), a spacious 100㎡ studio with multiple sets, and cinema-quality video filming — features no central Tokyo salon can match. The 25-minute train ride from Ueno is well worth it.
Can I wear my costume outside?
Yes. We offer outdoor accompaniment and outdoor photo shoot options. Rooftop dress photography is also popular.
Will my photos or videos be posted publicly?
Never without your explicit permission. Your privacy is fully protected.
What forms of payment do you accept?
